Our Charities

Charity is one of the three great principles on which Freemasonry rests. We donate to both Masonic, and none Masonic Charities.

From its earliest days Freemasonry has been involved in charitable activities, and since its inception it has provided support for many widows and orphans of Freemasonry as well as for others within the community. All monies raised for charity are drawn from amongst Freemasons, their families and friends, while grants and donations are made to Masonic and non-Masonic charities throughout England and Wales.

Over the past 5 years alone Freemasonry has raised more than £75m for a wide range of charitable purposes including those involved in medical reearch, community care, education and work with young people.

The Worshipful Master's lady, Tina Cooper, presents a cheque for £325.00 to Abigail Floyd of the Meningitis Trust, at the Eastfields Christmas lunch in December 2012. The money was raised from a raffle, held at the lodge Ladies night, in November, attended by 75 Brethren, and guests. Special thanks to Roy Pebody, for his calligraphy skills on the cheque.
